Frequently Asked Questions

Weather Hotline?
The fastest, most effective ways for us to get a hold of parents are Facebook, Email, and Text message in our registration system.
What nights and times will my child practice, and when does practice start?
Most teams will practice 1-2 evenings during the week. Most practices are scheduled for either a 5:30pm start time or a 7:00pm start time with the younger teams practicing in the 5:30/6pm time slot. Practices will be between 60 and 90 minutes in length. Practice schedules will be developed around coaches’ availability.
Where is practice?
Chesterfield Strikers recreational practice sites are as follows:
  • Midlothian: Monacan High School (U6-U12)
  • Midlothian: Watkins Elementary School (U14 and High School)
  • Chesterfield: Ironbridge Park (U6-High School)
  • Enon: Point of Rocks Park (U6-High School)
  • Woodlake United Methodist Church (U6-U8)
  • Chester: United Training Center (U14 and High School)
Teams will be formed based on coaches availability and number of players in each location. These locations are not guaranteed. Most teams are formed in these locations as listed above; however, our All Girls divisions are not always able to be formed in each location.
When and where are games?
Games are scheduled for Saturdays beginning at 9:00am and concluding in mid-afternoon. Richmond Strikers Chesterfield home game sites for in-house teams are Monacan High School and Ironbridge Park. Teams playing in the Cross-Association League (U10+ All Girls, and U14+ Coed) will have games at other sites in the Richmond Metro area. The home sites include Point of Rocks, UTC, Monacan High School, Watkins Elementary, and Ironbridge Park.
Can I play on a team with my friend?
You may submit special requests, however we cannot guarantee that we will be able to honor every request. Please list your friends names in the registration system, if possible.
When will I hear from my coach?
You should hear from your coach prior to the start of the season. If you are a late signup then the Director will connect you with your coach via email with some pertinent information.

What if a team cannot be formed at a specific location?
The players will be moved to the nearest fields. WUMC, Watkins ES and Monacan are usually grouped together. POR, UTC, and IBP are typically grouped together.
Will there be any games over Labor Day or Easter weekends?
There will be no games on these weekends.

What happens if a game or practice gets canceled?
Richmond Strikers Chesterfield will schedule one makeup date per season in the event that a game day is rained out. If more than one game date is rained out, the Recreation Director will work with the coaching staff to provide solutions (normally weeknight makeup games). If more than one game date is rained out, it is not guaranteed that all games will be made up. Rained out practices will not be made up.
When will I get my uniform?
Players and families should order uniforms as soon as possible after registration to ensure they are received in a timely fashion. Please order them online at the links on our Recreation site. All new players must order recreation uniforms. Players who participated in a previous season and ordered uniforms do not need to order uniforms for the following spring.
  • In the event of documented injury/illness that prevents a player from participating in the program for which they are currently enrolled/registered

What other equipment do I need?
Players must wear shin guards at practice and during games (includes all age groups). Those not wearing shin guards will NOT be allowed to participate as this is a safety issue. It is also strongly encouraged to bring a soccer ball, water bottle and to wear cleats.  These can be purchased at Dick’s Sporting Goods or Soccer Post.
